PSG is ready to pay a part of Neymar’s salary if he lends the star to Man Utd, according to French newspaper L’Équipe.

Neymar is still out of action due to a right ankle injury since February 2023. He had surgery in March and will certainly be absent for the rest of the season. But according to L’Équipe, Man Utd is negotiating to borrow the Brazilian star, possibly with a buy-out clause. PSG is also willing to pay a part of Neymar’s salary if he goes to Man Utd.

Midfielder Casemiro is also urging the leadership of Man Utd to bring his compatriot Neymar to Old Trafford. Man Utd are unlikely to sign a long-term contract with striker Wout Weghorst, while Anthony Martial regularly struggles with injuries. “Red Devils” will be forced to recruit attacking players in the summer of 2023 and Neymar is the option to be considered.

Neymar’s level is not in dispute when he has scored 18 goals and assisted 13 times in 29 matches for PSG this season. But the problem with the 31-year-old is that he is susceptible to injury, having played just over half as many games as teammates like Kylian Mbappe. Since leaving Barca, almost every season Neymar has missed more than 20 games due to injuries in different positions, mainly ankle and hip.

If not going to Man Utd, Neymar’s next destination is also likely to be the Premier League because there is no other tournament to meet his salary. According to Marca, Neymar is receiving $ 78 million per year, before tax, on a contract until the summer of 2027.

In addition to Neymar, PSG is also almost certain to part with Lionel Messi at the end of the 2022-2023 season, because the two sides are out of contracts and cannot find a common voice to renew. Pushing these two stars away will help PSG have more budget to recruit other good players to help the team achieve its goal of winning the Champions League.
