Lionel Messi: 25 days of spectacular ‘transformation’ Inter Miami

In less than a month, Lionel Messi took Inter Miami from a mediocre club to the final of the Leagues Cup and lived the best days in history.
Twenty-five days from his debut (July 22), it was enough for Lionel Messi to lead Inter Miami to the Leagues Cup final. His brilliant football aura lit up a club in the dark of MLS.

Messi helps Inter Miami fly high

Messi’s arrival marks two completely different moments in the history of Inter Miami.

Rescuing Inter Miami from the bottom of the MLS East region is the future task, and the present is the conquest of the Leagues Cup.

When recruiting Messi, David Beckham took into account many effects. But perhaps the former MU player does not fully imagine the difference that the former Barcelona player brings on the pitch.

The Argentina captain’s latest performance was the semi-final against Philadelphia, at Subaru Park.

A courtyard nestled in a stunning landscape, right at the foot of the Commodore Bridge over a Delaware River. There, nearly 20,000 enthusiastic spectators witnessed the special things that Messi brought.

The frenzy culminated in Messi making it 2-0 in Inter Miami’s 4-1 win.

Messi scored the farthest goal of his career
Messi’s left footed shot was measured from a distance of 32.1m. Never in his career has he scored from so far away, bringing Inter into the final against Nashville, which took place on Sunday morning (8am on August 20, Hanoi time).

It was Leo’s ninth goal in six games for Inter Miami. A scoring phase that combines speed, accuracy, technique and power.

Messi’s final

Less than two months ago, Inter lost to Philadelphia 1-4 in the MLS. The Subaru Park team has an unbeaten record of 15 matches at their fortress.

But Messi’s presence in the Inter Miami squad changed everything. At 36, he is a seasoned fighter who moves wisely and continues to feel the happiness of having the ball at his feet.

In a more relaxed setting, without the boos like at PSG, Messi allowed himself to enjoy another phase of his career. What hasn’t changed is his influence and ability to radiate energy on the pitch.

Messi always has a way to make a difference

Messi always has an abundance of resources to surprise, tricks the opponent does not anticipate when following him.

Messi’s variations seem endless. His mischief continues to make a difference in a football that is still underdeveloped. Like the previous 5 games, “La Pulga” scored again.

In MLS, Inter Miami played 22 matches and scored 22 goals. In the Leagues Cup, with Messi in the squad and after only six games, the club Beckham is president and co-owner has also reached that number.

Messi has turned a mediocre team into a championship candidate. He is waiting for the 44th trophy of his career to surpass Dani Alves as the player with the most trophies in history.

In the short term, Messi’s goals have helped Inter Miami qualify for the CONCACAF Champions Cup 2024, the tournament that won the right to attend the FIFA Club World Cup 2025.

There is still a long way to go to conquer. Love, passion and victory. With Messi, anything is possible.
